mindfulness

noun: The awareness that emerges through paying attention on purpose, in the present moment, and non judgmentally to the unfolding of experience moment by moment. – Jon Kabat-Zinn

Our minds are often going at full speed planning the next move, and the one after that. Mindfulness is a conscious effort to gently bring our awareness to the true experience of what is happening now. Being mindful is being emotionally non-reactive. It is about acknowledging the moment without any judgment and accepting the experience in the moment as it is. By anchoring ourselves in the moment, mindfulness helps us create a free, calm and content space.
